Meerkat baby

My daughter's friend has just welcomed a new baby brother into the family so I needed a baby card.  I decided to use the meerkats from Sale-a-bration that I think are so cute.
I've used a mish mash of items from all over the place for this one. The striped paper is from the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper pack and the sentiment is from the Animal Outing Stamp Set.

For the die-cuts behind the meerkat - which I hand-cut and coloured with my Stampin' Blends (Crumb Cake) - I used the Painted Labels Dies from the Peaceful Poppies Suite in the Mini Catalogue.  The big swirly one is Balmy Blue and the yellow one is Daffodil Delight to match the matting behind the paper.

Then I thought the meerkat needed grounding somehow, so I cut some grass to go under his feet.  You might have seen the Ladybug dies which are part of the Sale-a-bration co-ordination products.  You can earn the Little Ladybug host stamp set for free when you host a workshop during Sale-a-bration.

Its such a cute set that you're going to want to earn this one.  If you haven't seen, there are dies which are purchasable to go with this stamp set that not only cut out the ladybugs, but also cut out the flower both as a whole or just as a flowerhead.  Then there are several dies which compliment to bring your project to a whole new level.  The grass die-cut is one of those dies.  See the whole set below

Finally I finished the card with some matching retired Balmy Blue organza ribbon and some rhinestones.  I coloured the rhinestones with my Balmy Blue Blend (alcohol marker) to match everything else.

Oh and the sentiment on the inside of the card is from another oldie but goodie retired stamp set called Baby Bear.
