Silhouette Scenes birthday

Yesterday was my youngest Daughter's birthday.  One of her favourite things to do is to swing on her rope ladder and trapeze attached to our big old plum tree.

So when deciding on what to do for her birthday card, I knew the Silhouette Scenes stamp set was perfect.
I didn't have the See A Silhouette Designers Series Paper, though I should order some because its fantastic - I love the bright colours - so I sponged the background for this card instead.

I used So Saffron, Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody with a touch of Grapefruit Grove.  Once I'd sponged it, I flicked a little bit of water over it with my aqua painter.

To get the dark solid image I used my Stamparatus so that I could stamp the image, then re-ink and stamp it a second time in exactly the same spot.

For the tree branch, I used the branch from the Colorful Seasons stamp set and then I used the leaf image from the Rooted In Nature stamp set.  I was able to use my Stamparatus again to line these up just where I wanted them and I also double stamped these to get the depth of colour.

Tip: I used my imaging sheet from my old stamp-a-ma-jig to get the placement perfect but you can use a piece of Window Sheet to do the same thing.  Making sure the ink is dry, lay the sheet on top of your stamped image, place the stamp where you think it should go (on top of the sheet) and pick it up on your Stamparatus plate.  Ink it up and stamp it down on the clear sheet.  You'll be able to see where it will stamp on your card and if its not quite in the right spot, carefully move the card underneath until its in the right spot. Clean the clear sheet and repeat if you want to be doubly sure.  Once you're happy with the placement, then you can take the clear sheet away and stamp with confidence.

I added a very thin black mat to give depth and contrast to the sponged piece and then mounted it on a Whisper White card base.
