Yesterday was Father's Day here in New Zealand and this is the card that I made my Dad.
Dad loves his photography and has his licensorship. When he opened his card he thought that the photographer reminded him of Mr Magoo, hence why I've titled this post as I have. Anyone else see a resemblance?
I have to say thanks to Tina Wardell, a demonstrator in Washington, for her fabulous card design. I knew when I saw the On to Adventure stamp set that I had to have it and I had to make a card for Dad using this fun photographer. When I saw Tina's card I knew it was perfect, even down to the colour, as Dad's favourite colour is green.
For the film strip I did use a film strip border punch which I have, but if you don't have one of those you can make your own using a strip of cardstock and a small hole punch. Tina has a video over on her page about how to do that if you'd like to see how.
For the inside I found the perfect little sentiment from the A Wish for Everything stamp set. Its a double set that comes in two cases and has lots of useful sentiments. I use it a lot plus it has matching dies. If you buy both together in a bundle you save 10%. This is also where the Happy Father's Day for the front of the card came from.
The hearts come from a set which is in the Beginner Catalogue called Celebrate with Cake. I stamped it in the new Rococo Rose colour for the perfect finishing touch.
