Christmas Mugs

My Girls made personalised mugs for their teachers as Christmas Gifts this year.  I loved how they turned out and their teachers liked them too.

I made the tags to go on the wrapping and included a Christmas notepad to go in the parcel, along with chocolate of course.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas.  Enjoy your break, however you spend it.

I've been busy, plus sneak peek

I've been busy lately making a few projects and generally partaking in the Christmas rush.  Here are some of the projects I've been working on, which include some sneak peeks of exciting new products coming in January.

This is my Christmas countdown wheel.  The tabs on the sides enable you to turn the wheels inside to change the number of days counting down to Christmas.

You can see here how the numbers can change as you turn the wheel (this photo was taken before my order arrived and didn't have the word 'celebrate' on it.

Next is a notepad that I taught to my group of seniors at Senior Moments.  They wanted to do something different from a Christmas card so we came up with the idea of covered notepads.

They all enjoyed making this project and a few of them commented how useful they would be to pop into their handbags.

And here are some table gifts that I made recently as well. The tic tacs that I put in the tubes matched my Designer Series Paper and Berry Burst cardstock absolutely perfectly.

Finally, I branched out and did a scrapbook page of our two (adorable in our eyes) kittens.  Although, they're not really kittens any more at just turned one year old.  They constantly keep us on our toes and provide amusement for us every day.

I used a few different techniques for these pages including tabs as embellishments, stamping directly on the photos, punch art and fussy cutting.  I brought it all together by using the same chosen colour for both sides (Island Indigo) which I chose to match the blanket that Patch is lying on in the photo on the first page.

Galaxy Birthday

A lot of my close family birthdays are in November, along with many others - 14 birthdays in fact, so I'm a bit behind in sharing the cards I made with you.

This was a card I made for my Husband for his birthday.  This technique is one that requires you to put it aside and leave for several hours (8 at the minimum), but I think it was worth it.

The technique was discovered by accident by a demonstrator in Australia. She had been using the shaving cream technique for a class and forgotten to clean it up afterwards.  When she went back to her craft room she discovered it had gone all sparkly.  Deciding to put a piece of cardstock in it to see what happened, she discovered this cool galaxy effect.

I did use a few retired star sequins but they were the absolute perfect thing I needed when I got a bit stuck as to how to finish the card off.  And they were the perfect colour too.

Supplies
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Whisper White, Silver Foil
Stamps: Picture Perfect Birthday
Ink: Island Indigo
Other: Sequins (retired), Reinkers - Island Indigo & Pool Party, Shaving Cream
