New Home

A friend of my daughter's has moved into a new house over the weekend.  I made them this card to say congratulations on their new home.

To get the two-tone colour of the plant, I used the marker technique, to colour directly onto the stamp before stamping it onto the cardstock.

To get the mottled terracotta look of the plant pots, I coloured directly onto the stamp with my Delightful Dijon marker and then stamped it onto Peekaboo Peach cardstock.  Then I cut the pots out separately from the plants and layered the two together.

Cardstock: Whisper White, Peekaboo Peach, Soft Sky
DSP: Tasty Treats, Subtles Paper Stack
Stamps: Gift from the Garden, Guy Greetings (sentiment)
Ink: Delighful Dijon, Old Olive, Cucumber Crush, Wisteria Wonder, Garden Green

Cool Treats Class

We're going to make some 'Cool' cards on Thursday at class, using the bundle called "Cool Treats" featuring fun icecreams and iceblocks.

They are so realistic that, given these gorgeous hot days, you're likely to want your own cool treat to eat on the way home.

Why not come and join us for the fun.  If you can't make a daytime class, let me know and we'll arrange an evening class.

See the "Classes" tab for more details on cost and location.

Happy 'Cool' Birthday

I made this card for a friend of my daughter's who turned 9 this month.  I pretty much followed the example on page 32 of the Occasions Catalogue, which showcases this cool suite.

I didn't think a boy would appreciate a doily so I left that off and I like it just as much without one.

These stamps and dies are so much fun to play with and they're very realistic.  Caleb didn't even realise I'd made the card to start with.

There are so many fun ways to decorate your icecream.  What's your favourite flavour and what toppings do you like best?

Cardstock: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Peekaboo Peach, Pool Party, Watermelon Wonder, Gold Foil
Paper: Tasty Treats DSP
