Auckland Extravaganza

We had another Auckland Extravaganza on Saturday which I taught at.  It was a fun afternoon had by all with around 100 guests, 15 teachers and some much appreciated helpers.  The project my team Angela, Kylie and I taught was a Box in a Card shown here:

The idea being of course that you give your card and gift as one.  We used the Cherry on Top  Designer Series Paper stack and Build a Birthday stamp set.  We had done all the cutting beforehand so the guests just had to follow our instructions and have fun putting it all together.
Here are the other projects the guests made on the day:

We'd love to have you join us for our next Extravaganza (Christmas themed) on the 7th November.  Please let me know if you'd like to come and I can book you a seat.  For full information about our Extravaganza's please see my Events page or feel free to contact me.
If you're interested in hosting a workshop or attending a class, please have a look at my class schedule or events pages or contact me for more information.

New Grandparent card

A very good friend of mine recently had her first baby.  Since we grew up together I also know her Mum and her Nana pretty well so I wanted to send them my congratulations too.  After all it was their first grandchild and first great-grandchild.
I didn't want my card to be too 'baby' but I wanted it to acknowledge that it was a congratulations for becoming a grandparent so I started with this

My friend has a little white dog who has become 'big brother' to the baby so I used the dog from the fabulous new set Hey Girl.  I've got him walking along in front of the fence looking up at the balloons which say "Its a Boy".

Cardstock: Soft Sky, Crumb Cake, Delightful Dijon, Cucumber Crush, Old Olive
DSP: In-Colour DSP collection
Stamps: Hey Girl, Endless Birthday Wishes, Sprinkles of Life
Inks: Crumb Cake, Tip Top Taupe, Cucumber Crush, Delighful Dijon, Soft Sky
Other: Banner punch, Bird punch, linen thread

Brown paper

We spent the first day of the school holidays finding a use for some of the brown paper that my orders come shipped in.

We wrapped some empty boxes in the paper and turned them into buildings.  Then we made ourselves a city.  The girls have had hours of fun playing with it not to mention the fun we had building it.
