Life's Adventures Birthday Card

I hope you enjoyed our latest blog hop.  Today I thought I'd share with you my nephew's birthday card.  He likes to ride his bike so I have used the bike image from the hostess set "Life's Adventures" and coloured it with my Blendabilities markers.  I love how you can cut the sentiment off the stamp and so you can use just the image by itself like I have here.

I have paired it with the Work of Art stamp set for the clouds and the road, and the Kinda Eclectic stamp set for the sun.  Inspiration for this card came from Heidi Weaver.  The sentiment came from Wetlands

I included a pocket on the inside too for a gift card so he can go and choose something he likes.

If you'd like this stamp set which has 4 other great stamps with it, simply contact me to host a party.  When you qualify for hostess dollars you can choose this set as one of your hostess rewards - or you may decide there's something else you like just as much or better.  Remember hostesses can earn extra hostess dollars during sale-a-bration between now and 31st March and for every $110NZD you spend on product (workshop or not) you will earn yourself a free product from the sale-a-bration catalogue.  Now that's awesome!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Stamps: Work of Art, Kinda Eclectic, Life's Adventures, Wetlands
Ink: Crumb Cake, Hello Honey, Soft Sky, Early Espresso
Blendabilities: Wild Wasabi, Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate
Other: Sweet Dreams washi tape

Occasions Blog Hop

Welcome to another Creative Inkers Team Blog Hop! I hope you all enjoyed our Sale-a-bration hop last week. Didn't the team make some gorgeous projects? This week it's the turn of the Occasions Catalogue.

If this is your first stop, make sure you click on either the 'Next' or 'Previous' buttons below to hop around and check out everyone's blogs.  There'll be lots of fantastic projects to see and inspire you.  If you get lost along the way, see the list at the bottom of this post to get you back on track again.

Now to my projects for this hop.  I've made two this time.  The first one uses the always useful designer series paper stack and this particular stack called Stacked with Love is one of the best I think I've seen.  One side has reds and peachy colours perfect for your Valentine's, Anniversaries and Thinking of You projects and the other side is all Blacks & Whites - brilliant!  I chose two designs from the stack and mounted squares of them for this card.  Then I used the Little Letters Thinlet dies and cut out the word 'Love' to go on top.

For my second project I've created a masculine card using the Moon Lake stamp set.  I coloured in the picture using my blendabilities and layered it with circles on a chevron background.  Then I used sequins to give it just a little bling without making it too girly.

Don't forget, between now and the 31st March, for every $110NZD you spend, you can choose a free product from the Sale-a-bration catalogue (the link to this is on my sidebar to the right).

I hope you've enjoyed these two cards.  We enjoy reading your comments and receiving your feedback so please do leave them for us (we understand the comment buttons are sometimes a little hard to find - see my post here to help you if you get stuck finding the buttons).

Now you're off to Bernie's blog to see what she's created for you.  Unless you're hoping backwards then you'll go to see Alicia

How do I comment on your blog hop?

We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying our blog hops and we’ve heard when you say you’d like to leave us the comments we’re asking for but how?

Yes those comment buttons can be tricky to find - here’s hope this guide will help.

First of all we hate spam as much as anyone else (unless they’re the ones doing all the spamming).  To combat this there are times you’ll have to prove you’re not a robot.  You may have to answer a simple maths question, sometimes you’ll have to enter the text from a picture and sometimes it will come up that the author will have to approve your post.  This is just us trying to reduce spam on our blogs so please bare with us in that regard.

Quite often a box will come up and you’ll be asked to add your name, email address, url (such as a blog address if you have one) and then you can post your comment.

We know all this can be a drag but it really does only take a few seconds.  We value your feedback and comments and appreciate the time you take to make them for us.  So how do you find the button to write the comments?  We each use a blog platform that suits us best and not all of them are the same.  Below I’ll list how to find the comment buttons for the people who joined us for our last sale-a-bration blog hop.  For those people who’ve joined us recently and aren’t on the list, this should give you a guide at least to find the comment button for other blogs.

Bernie Collins uses BlogSpot.  Scroll to the bottom of her post and you'll see:

Click on the word comments and it will bring up a box for you to add a comment.

Jacque Williams - scroll to the bottom of her post and you will see a box to add a comment.

Rachael Knight uses BlogSpot.  Scroll to the bottom of her post and you'll see:

Click on the word 'comments' and you will see a box to add a comment.

Paula Reid uses BlogSpot - scroll to the bottom of her post and you will see a box to add a comment.

Sally Williams uses Blogsot - scroll to the bottom of her post and you will see:
Click on the Post a Comment button.

Lisa Bullock uses Wordpress.  This time at the top of her post near the heading you'll see a little speech bubble with a number in it.  This is the comment button you need to click on.

Heather Stewart uses BlogSpot - scroll to the bottom of her post and you will see a box to add a comment.

Ria Kaire uses the Stampin' Up! blog platform.  Scroll to the bottom of her post and you will see

Click on the word 'comments' to add a comment.

Sharon de Vos uses BlogSpot - scroll to the bottom on the post and you'll see:
In this case the post I've used this snip from has no comments so click on 'No Comments' and leave her one.

Kath Oldham/Jorja Rose Files uses BlogSpot - scroll to the bottom and you will see a box to add comments.

Narelle Hoggard uses Wordpress.  At the top of her post you'll see:
Click on the word 7 Comments to leave her a comment.

Alicia uses Wordpress too but you'll find her comment box at the bottom of the post.
See how tricky that one was to find.  Click on the 19 comments (wow she did well) and leave her a comment.

Finally there's me.  I use BlogSpot and you can find a comment box for me at the bottom of my posts.

I hope you have found this guide helpful and that it makes it a little easier for you to post comments on our blog hop. Enjoy the next hop on Monday 26th January at 8pm.

Saturday, 3 January 2015

Today's post is one that I made last month but decided to keep until after I had posted all the Christmas cards.  This is a card I made on request from an acquaintance of my Mum's.  She wanted something for her Granddaughter that was 'funky'.

This is my version of a card I found online and I do apologise but I have misplaced the details of where I cased it:

Her Granddaughter was thrilled as somehow I had managed to replicate the colours of her newly decorated bedroom and somehow the girl from the set 'In This Together' even looks like her apparently - complete fluke, all of it.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Stamps: In This Together, Little Friends (sentiment retired)
Paper: Coastal Cabana & Rich Razzleberry (both I've just realised may be retired)
Blendabilities: Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana
Big Shot: Stylish Stripes EF, Itty Bitty Banners, Circle dies, Apothecary Accents dies, Beautiful Wings Embosslits,
Other: Ribbon (coloured with blendabilities),
