Skirt from Something for Baby - Name Badge

Last weekend I was able to attend my first regional training day put on by Stampin' Up!.  We were each asked to make name badges before we went and it was hinted there may be a prize or two as well.

This is what I came up with.  Rather than pinning something to my clothes I went with a lanyard style badge.  To showcase a new use for the Something for Baby set I made a skirt using the hood from the baby carriage.   What do you think?

Congratulations to Julia Leece plus 3 others (sorry I don't remember who you all were) for winning the badge competition.  Everyone made a fantastic job of their badges - there were some really great ones there and the judges had a hard decision on their hands.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Blackberry Bliss, Basic Gray
Stamps: Something for Baby
Big Shot: Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Baby's First Dies, Wonderful Wreath Dies,
Other: Artisan Label punch, Word Window punch, Scalloped tag topper punch, Blendabilities, Dazzling Details, Blackberry Bliss 3/8" Satin Stitched Ribbon, Early Espresso Bakers Twine,

Icecream Cone Cupcakes

I thought I'd share with you the cupcakes I made for my daughter's kindy gala this weekend.

She wanted blue and pink icing.  Short of using an entire bottle of blue food colouring which I wasn't going to do we got more of a green colour than blue but they still looked cute.

They're not the easiest thing to transport we discovered but we solved that problem by turning some tinfoil trays upside down and cutting some holes in them.  These ones got a bit squashed when the lid came down on them before we thought to poke kebab sticks in the tray to hold the lid open.

Star Box

Today I thought I'd share a video with you from Stampin' Up! showing you how to make awesome little star boxes using our new Star Framelits.  They make fabulous Christmas decorations too as you will see at the end of the video.

High Tea birthday

This is a birthday card I made for a friend and fellow demonstrator Angela.  She is having a high tea to celebrate her birthday so I wanted the card to reflect that if I could.

The sentiment "celebrate" comes from the new Good Greetings stamp set.  You can earn this stamp set free until the 31st October when you qualify for hostess rewards.

Cardstock: Lost Lagoon, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White
Ink: Lost Lagoon
Stamps: Good Greetings, Pun Fun (retired)

Big shot: Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Bitty Banners

Fathers Day cards

Here are my two Fathers Day cards for my Dad and my Father-in-Law
The idea for this first one is taken directly from my friend Angela Palmer.  It uses the Work of Art stamp set so cleverly I just had to case it.  Thanks Angela

My Father-in-law likes a bit of a joke so this one is for him:

You'll see the "instead....."  open it up

Inside
... but we couldn't do that so this is actually a 3 fold card and you open it again...

Second inside
I would rather have used MDS to do the writing on this card instead of handwriting it as I have, but unfortunately I can't currently print directly on the designer series paper as I wanted it to be.  Inspiration for this card goes to Narelle Fasulo but this is my take on it.  I hope you like them.

Supplies used:
Sailboat card
Cardstock: Lost Lagoon, Whisper White
Ink: Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon, Pacific Point, Coastal Cabana, Island Indigo, Baked Brown Sugar
Stamps: Work of Art, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Other: Itty Bitty Banners

3 fold card
Cardstock: Very Vanilla
Ink: Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon
Stamps: Something for Baby
Paper: Trim the Tree DSP Stack
Other: Baby's First Framelits
