I can see some glittery bling projects from this weeks deals.
Here is a card I made using silver glimmer paper for a friend's wedding last year.

Its Wednesday again

Punches have got to be one of my favourites, along with ribbon and embossing folders, so this week's deal are right up my alley:

Tuesday, 20 May 2014

Today's card is a simple sympathy card that I saw here and liked.  I've changed it up slightly by using the decorative dots embossing folder so that it matches the dots in the paper, instead of the woodgrain folder.

Cardstock: Smoky Slate, Whisper White
Paper: Watercolour Wonder designer series paper
Stamps: Just Believe (but you could use Love & Sympathy as in the sample I cased), Simply Sketched
Ink: Basic Black
Other: On film framelits, Decorative Dots embossing folder, Bakers twine

Mothers Day

This is what I came up with for our Mums for Mothers Day

For this card I came up with a combination of Strawberry Slush, Island Indigo and Crumb Cake.
I continued the colour theme across to the gift bag by making the tag on crumb cake cardstock using the scallop tag topper punch, the Island Indigo Watercolour Wonder paper and then punching Petite Petals in Strawberry Slush.

Next I made a trio tag topper card inspired by my upline Julia Leece and a matching gift box.  Unintentionally I also ended up using Island Indigo, simply because this is my (and Mum's) favourite designer series paper.  I love this Watercolour Wonder dsp.

The box is made using Simone Bartrum's instructions.  Thanks Simone.  I made my box a little bigger than hers so that it fitted a Pascoes jewellery box inside and again I've decorated it up with Petite Petals to match the card. If you'd like my measurements for the slightly bigger box please drop me an email.

Stamp sets: Petite Petals, Label Love, Happy Watercolour
Ink: Island Indigo, Crumb Cake, Strawberry Slush
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Strawberry Slush, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate, Gumball Green,
Other: Scalloped tag topper punch, Petite Petals punch, Artisan Label punch, Rhinestones, Island Indigo ribbon, brad,

A card just because

A dear friend of my late Nana, who we miss dearly, recently sent us some photos and asked that we return them when we were done.  Mum thought she'd make her a card to send the photos back in and this is what she came up with.

Stamp sets: Petite Petals, Everything Eleanor, Express Yourself (Hostess)
Ink: Gumball Green, Strawberry Slush, Wisteria Wonder
Cardstock: Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White
Other: Petite Petals Punch, Modern Label Punch, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Stripes EF, Pearls,

Contact me to order any of these products, and don't forget, the Gumball Green (along with the other 2012-2014 In colours) are retiring at the end of the month.

If you've got your eye on anything in the current catalogue, make sure you get in soon as it may be retiring at the end of the month - retiring lists come out 31st May and supplies will go quickly!

This week's deals

I'm loving this week's deals - some of the things I like using best are in here

Don't forget the adorning accents embossing folders have matching Adorning Accents Edgelits which coordinate beautifully.  This is a brilliant price for a heat tool and don't forget your Versamark and Versamark reinker for the embossing powder when you place your order for these great products.

Birthday cards

I was lucky to receive some lovely handmade cards this weekend for my birthday.

This one is from my parents.  It shows the versatility of the stamp where Mum has used both the top of the flower on the circle and the full length flower on the inside long panel.  Thanks Mum - you've made a gorgeous card.

Stamp sets: Happy Watercolor
Ink: Calypso Coral, Basic Black
Cardstock: Calypso Coral
DSP: Watercolour Wonder
Other: Circle card Thinlits Die, Rhinestones, Scallop Oval Punch

This one was from my upline Julia Leece.

Stamp sets: Flower Shop
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush
Cardstock: Whisper White
Other: Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder

Julia has used 3 of the current 2013-2015 In Colours. These colours are here to stay for another year.  Not that I'm able to share them with you yet, but we do know what the new In Colours for 2014-2016 are and they are gorgeous.  Watch this space to find out for yourself when the new catalogue comes out on 1st July.

Lastly I thought I'd share with you the two cards my daughters made me at Nana's house.  One wanted to draw me a picture on the front (and I must say I love the picture) and she's put stickers on the inside.  The other has covered the outside with stickers and drawn a picture inside for me

It's very special receiving cards they've worked so hard on, as it is receiving any handmade card.  And that's part of what we love about what we do - to see the joy someone gets from receiving a handmade card.

Dog Sympathy

This week our neighbours have lost (suddenly) their beloved dog.  He was a lovely dog, so well behaved.  I thought I'd pop a card in their letterbox to let them know we are thinking of them.

We live at a beach and they used to walk the dog on the beach - my idea with this card was to make it look like Sherman was leaving his footsteps behind on the beach.
Inside I've written the verse from this card I found.  I thought it was a lovely verse.

Four Legged friends
are a very special part of any family
Special thoughts are with you
now that you've had to say goodbye.

Rest in peace Sherman.
